Bringing Play Back Into Your Life: Spring Edition
Spring has sprung! FINALLY! What a wonderful season to think about your inner child. Spring is all about finding a balance between the oh-so-missed sunshine and jumping in the puddles of rain! It is important to reassess what your inner child needs at each season because each season presents new opportunities and new aspects of yourself to explore. With spring comes new energy and new life. We want to be intentional with this new energy. We want to look at this new season from the eyes of a child and use the extra energy to implement more time for play and enjoyment. So remember the questions from a few seasons ago….or just click on this link Bringing Play Back Into Your Life: Fall Edition
Did you answer the questions? Great! Remember, the key is to identify activities that bring play and fun into your life, no matter how silly they are. Spring comes with more daylight and more Vitamine D. Let’s utilize these factors and create some joy. Here’s a quick list to give you some ideas:
Get your hands dirty, and plant a garden! It’s not about whether you have a green thumb, it’s about playing in the earth.
Take a weird walk. What’s a weird walk you might ask? A weird walk is where you walk through your neighborhood with only the intention of finding something unique and weird.
Join a sports team
Pick wildflowers or take photos of flowers
Go rollerskating/blading
Go to the park
Go jump in a puddle!
This list is endless. The idea is to ask yourself what did you love to do as a child or what did you wish you could have done in the spring? We all wanted to grow up so badly so that we could have freedom over ourselves, now that you have it, use some of that freedom to create more joy and play in your life, not just to work. And remember, it is still okay to need to rest in this season. Now go soak up some much-needed sunshine!
